of course, the obligatory shot of Boo, i'd like to think she has arranged this portrait shot as an illustration of the ambivalence of love, the gaze falling onto the loved one but the loved one refusing to return the gaze (intimacy) offering merely a physicality that in itself is a rejection. however thee and me both know that she just dumped Boo on the ground.Next up is the fairy dress. can you hear me grinding my teeth? well, the thing of the moment with the kids is dress ups... so we were looking one day at getting her some more dresss up stuff and of course fairies are the theme as well. Caitlin nearly exploded with excitement and desire when she saw this dress on the rail and after some humming and hawing and considerable doe eyed pressure from our ringleted cherub, we bought the dress and carted it home in expectation of much joyful playing.
4 months later it is known now, since then and forever more as The Itchy Dress. despite grim determination to shoe horn said ringleted cherub into the dress and force her to bloody well have a good time, the bottom lip would quiver and the eyes would blink away the tears as she pleaded 'it's itchy'.
sigh.
and now we have the much loved computer. yes, she is following effortlessly in her computer
geek parents' footsteps. but if i have to exclaim rapturously over one more Charlie and Lola Butterfly....the fairy that started it all...Laura, since joined by alina, feya, blue mer, butterfly, rainbow, purple pink...all of varying quality both in the finished product and in her
choice of names.and of course, the beloved (for now) mummy and daddy
